the question is how can one have a merry heart? in Galatians5:22-26-But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another. this teaching was addressed by the Apostle Paul to the Galatians who practice the works of the flesh: Galatians5:19-21. in short if we are of Christ’s our body will be rested from sins (Matthew11:28-30) therefore no negative feeling will interrupt the flow of the divine and positive attitude and behavior in the person. medical science has observed that the body of persons who having positive behavior and attitude produces a kind of hormone that enhances the immune system which can eliminate or neutralize viruses and bacteria that cause the sickness to a person. the reverse effects to the person who indulges in the works of the flesh. because that person will always feel miserable and as Apostle Paul teaches “they which do such things (adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance or licentiousness, emulations, wrath, strife, dissensions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: Galatians 19-21) shall not inherit the kingdom of God.” i.e. a person who indulges in these worldly works of the flesh: “but a broken spirit drieth the bones” (Proverbs 17:22 & 15:13-14).
I do agree that by pitiing one’s self crete a lot of negative views. It is much better to begin with praising God 0ur Father 0ur Lord Jesus and The Divine Holy Spirit, the Spirit of truth and love. keep our minds focused
of these things and the advisary, will not be able to draw us away from the truth
IT IS A FACT OF LIFE THAT WHEN YOU PRAISE GOD HE RAISES YOU. IF YOU WANT GOD TO MAKE YOUR BED WHEN YOU ARE SICK PRASE HIM AND YOUR HEART WILL BE FILLED WITH JOY
